Internship Program

 

OVERVIEW AND IMPACT

Wonderful opportunity to intern with a Wellesley, Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to promote the physical, social and emotional wellness of elementary, middle and high school students through the power of play. Our interns gain access to various roles within a nonprofit, including development and funding, community relations, marketing and social media, events, operations and more. The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to jump right in and learn, be a self starter, and have a passion for sports and helping kids. This is a perfect role for a business or marketing major interesting in learning more about the nonprofit world. This role may be a mixture of remote and in-person.  


 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Study and understand the history, structure, objectives and programs of the organization
  • Respond to internal queries and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Work with CI Development lead to research, target and help secure partnerships; support funding initiatives; and support community relations
  • Work with CI Marketing lead to support marketing strategy including email, social media and website; create content, monitor social conversations, measure results and help grow/engage followers
  • Work with CI Operations lead to support in-person programs and administrative duties
  • Work with CI Event lead to successfully plan and run the 30th anniversary summer event
  • Work with CI Media lead to maintain and update press and media lists, develop media pitches, and conduct outreach


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current candidate for Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and research skills
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity
  • Ability to take initiative, show good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end
  • Detail oriented with the ability to anticipate next steps or needs
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
