Our mission is clear - boost the physical, social and emotional wellness of kids through the power of play. Through our PlayRox program, we are helping communities achieve their goal of getting kids to unplug and play in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.
Inspired by the success of the Terriers Sports program in Wellesley, MA, and the belief that every town, city and school should offer these types of experiences, Community Investors strives to blueprint and share our PlayRox programs to serve communities.
PlayRox is a unique blend of music-fueled fun for kids of all backgrounds, ages, genders and abilities that has been developed and refined over 30 years. Critical to our mission of play-based socio-emotional development, we foster and train middle school, high school and college students to coach and mentor the younger participants, as well as run the music and media programs for each event. As a result, all of our participants develop resiliency, empathy and a sense of belonging and ownership - all through the power of play.
We work with our partners to launch a full PlayRox program to their communities, or can help focus on one or two of these specific programs. PlayRox participants experience a unique blend of fun, high-energy activities and music, as well as coaching, DJ, and A/V production opportunities. Communities who offer PlayRox get to improve the quality and range of their after-school options, increase kids’ engagement and participation, and support the socio-emotional health of their younger residents.

"I work as a middle school teacher assistant and am writing in support of your program. A student I work with has benefited greatly from the program, as he is generally unable to participate in typical school sports. This program allows him to play sports with kids in his age group who are either closer to his skill level or just more accepting of his disability, and the support from high school students has been amazing as well.
Any doubts about the advantages this program provides to students can be quickly dispelled with a visit during one of the weekly events. Programs like this should be supported as much as possible, especially because it doesn't really take that much to give so many kids something to look forward to every week."
